Nubia • A desert region and ancient kingdom in the Nile River valley of southern Egypt and northern Sudan. In the 8th and 7th centuries kingdom arose that conquered Egypt and ruled as the XXV (15th) Dynasty (712-663).
New Kingdom • Also referred to as the Egyptian Empire, is the period in ancient Egyptian history between the 16th century BC and the 11th century BC, covering the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Dynasties of Egypt. It was Egypt’s most prosperous time and marked the peak of its power.
Egyptologist • An archeologist who specializes in the study of Ancient Egypt.
