  2. THINGS TO REMEMBER Everything is fair game: I might draw questions from: • Notes • Assignments • Readings • Discussions

  3. Mid-Unit Test Format The test will be 50 marks as follows: • 15 marks fill in the blanks (huge word bank) • 10 marks on multiple choice • 5 marks of short answer (do 1 out of 3choices) • 20 marks of long answer (do 2 out of 4 choices) – paragraphs!

  4. TERMS: we have covered a few terms, and you are responsible for: parody, satire, eccentric, cajole, Sol, strag, subliminal culmination, fait accompli, teaser (as used in the text), Q.E.D, therapeutic, bludgeoning, reverberated, coalesced, archaic, improbable, improbability, interstellar, infinite, conventional, inept, incomprehensible, contemptuous, nebular, diodes, thorax, queue, naïve, vitriolic, infinitives, sullen

  5. Short Answer: may include (but is not limited to): • Vogon technology (think poetry) • The characters who have trouble sleeping on the Heart of Gold spaceship (and why) • Marvin versus the doors of the spaceship

  6. Long Answer May include but is not limited to: • Demo of the house versus demo of Earth • Zaphod’s stupidity • Contrast of Zaphod with typical politician • Economic base of Magrathea and how it caused the economy of the galaxy to crash.

  7. Study and you won’t “choke” up on the material! Calvin obviously didn’t study!
