Located in South East Asia direct border with Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and East Timor. • Located in equator means Indonesia is a tropical country. • 70% of the country is oceans. • There are approximately 17,508 islands only about 6,000 islands are inhabited. • There are 300 distinct ethnicities. • Indonesia’s population is 230 million people. • Majority of people are Muslim. • Indonesia’s capital is Jakarta. • Currency is called rupiah and $ 1.00 (US dollars) = Rp 8.956 (Indonesian rupiah).
