Military Family Support Working Group • DOD 10 Key Issues Update • 2 new issues • Ensure Deployment Separation Does Not Determine Child Custody Decisions • Comport State Laws with DOD Rules on Disposition • ADC FOAC Brief • 3 issues submitted to FOAC committee for consideration • Federal TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) for active duty military spouses • (WOTC) Work Opportunity Tax Credit for hiring military spouses (target group) • Have military spouses added as a “Protected Category” under Title VII • Recommending taskforce/working group for military family • Government Affairs – Military Family Caucus • Launched 4 Nov-- 60 members from the House of Rep. 3 from Florida • 2 top legislative issues topping the agenda are programs for special needs children and helping military spouses find jobs
