LA as Imagined Space • What is the thesis of this essay? • How is the author supporting the thesis? • What methodology is she using? • How is LA a “thirdspace”? • Why use text and images to describe LA? • Describe some of the many ways LA is imagined as a city. • What is the importance of the compression of time and space for the author? • How does space possess agency? 66-67 • What is the importance of advertisements, literature, architecture, film in experiencing LA?

  6. Homework • RR to “Taking Apart LA” • Reading Response: Choose one line that you felt was particularly interesting, relevant, or important to the essay and analyze it within the context of the rest of the essay. • Also provide three discussion questions
