2. Russian Facts • Anthem: Gosudarstvenny gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii • Capital is Moscow • As the world’s biggest country, it is 6,592,800 square miles. • Their President is Dmitry Medvedev • It was originally named Rus’ a Slavic name, which is where it’s modern name comes from.

3. How it All Started • The ancestors of modern Russian's are from Slavic tribes, who came from the Pinsk Marshes, in Belarus, and Ukraine. They moved in two separate packs, one from Kiev, to Suzdal, and Murom, and one from Polotsk, towards Novgorod, and Rostov. From the seventh century, they have been bulking up the population.

4. The Vikings Forming Something New • The Vikings found Russia while exploring new land. They conquered the city of Kiev, and made Kievan Rus’. In the tenth, and eleventh century, it became one of the most powerful states in Europe. Have of Rus’ population was killed on 21 December 1237 in the Mongol invasion of Rus’. This invasion was by the people of Mongol. They did this to get land while countries were having challenges.

5. The European Problem This did definitely effected not only Russia, but the whole entire Europe. The Little Ice Age was from the thirteenth century, to the nineteenth century. It destroyed crops, and they didn’t grow. Many people in Russia died from this cold weather. Also nobody was really happy. Living in the Little Ice Age was very hard. Nobody was happy
