TRADITIONAL CRAFTS IN ROMANIA POTTERY
Reunion IslandCeramics are done with imported clay and have only recently started. Nevertheless, as part of some advanced research in fire arts, an unlikely combination of clayey earth and basaltic ground leads to the creation of original and very beautiful works of art.
Black pottery is known from ancient times; it was used in the Roman Empire, Thrace and other countries. The Romans called the black pottery “terra nigra“ (black earth)
Lithuania is one of the few corners of the world where the black ceramics has been saved
In Holland Delftware, or Delft pottery, is a blue and white pottery (some are colourful) made in and around Delft in the Netherlands from the 16th century.
CERAMICS TURKISH
Here in Hungary the traditional way of firing is in a traditional wood-burning kiln at around 950 Celsius.
ROMANIA • The most common technique of decoration means using a cow’s horn with a goose feather on top. • The colour goes through the horn to the goose feather. Thus we have a real pen. The delicate decoration can be obtained by using a small stick and boar hairs.
