General informations Bucharest is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as 1459.

Climate Bucharesthas a tranitionalclimate with bothcontinental and subtropicalinfluences. The city’swinterscanget windy. Winter temperatureoften dip below 0 C. sometimeseven to -20 C. In summer the averagetemperatureis 23 C. Temperaturessometimesreach 35 to 40 C in mid-summer in the citycentre.

Popular dishes Ciorba de burtă- is a pupular soup.Made out of vegetables and meatorfish. Youcan order it with pasta orrice. Saramura–is a saltygrilledcarp.
