About our Career centre An organizational unite within Quality assurance and Students services Office Staff: two full time employed counselors, head of the office plus two part time student workers The model of our Career centre: Services for prospective students,students & recent graduates Cooperation with employers

Time frame of the project November, december 2006 project idea, study visits to other EU university career centers (University of Readding, Ludwig Maximilian University in Munching, Krakow University of Technology). 2007: development of IT software to support the activities of the career centre, employment of a career counselor, adapting the necessary infrastructure (Career Office, computers, Careers Library) 2008: counseling for prospective students, organization ofwork shops for students, contact with employers,…

Theaim of the questionnaire: to find out about the activities and financing of other university career centres The short questionnaire was sent via email to universities of 25 EU Member state countries and additionally also thru UNICA emailing network. Respondents: 53 CC from 22 EU countries until 10.march 2008. terminology: we decided to use the term career centre for all the participating organization in our survey.

Other activities offer by CC: job fairs,company presentation, services for employers, organizing internships (Leonardo da Vinci), recruiting for companies,promotional activities for university, research on the labor market, psychometric testing, personal counseling, making tailor-made courses for faculties, lectures on career topics, e-advice, curriculum development …

  10. Financing of the CC Other sources: companies, sponsorship, career fairs income, student  fee, regional funds , national  job agency Ministryies: (of science, technology and innovation; of education; of welfare), EU projects: ESF, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus. Only42 CC answered this question how to finance the running of a career center.

Possibilities for cooperation Organising Summer schools for student on career various career topics Leonardo da Vinci projects: Individual mobility of graduates (reciprocial finding of placements in industry) Transef of innovation ( software for Career centres, counsling methods,..) Exchange of information ( job offers, study visits…) Organising internation job fairs for recent graduates
