Learning About Jesus What Jesus invites all men to do • Mt. 11:28-30: 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Becoming Like Jesus • Mt. 10:24-25:24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master….” • Lk. 6:40:40 “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.”
Becoming Like Jesus • Becoming like Jesus means: • Thinking the way He thinks • Feeling the way He feels • Acting and reacting the way He does • Discipleship means much more than: • Being better than those in the world • Being better than most Christians • Being as good as the best Christian you know
Abiding In Jesus’ Words Jn. 8:31-32:31Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Great Commission Baptism Saves • Acts 22:16-- ‘Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’
The Result of Great Commission Baptism • Added to the Body of Christ • Acts 2:41— “So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.” • Acts 2:47— “praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” • 1 Cor. 12:13— “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.”
