IHNC Lock Status What has been done • Backup valve cylinder, pumps, motor • Dewatered in 2008 What remains to be done: a. Hydraulic gate operating machinery - Cost Estimate = $2,500,000 b. New Miter Gates – Cost Estimate = $8,000,000 (4 gates) c. Floating Guide wall (river-end) – Cost Estimate = $13,000,000 d. Turnbuckles and Pintles – Cost Estimate = $50,000

Implementation of Real Time Current Velocity All sites are scheduled to be installed by the end of 2009 RTCV installation is planned for the following locks: • Calcasieu • Leland Bowman • Freshwater Bayou • Bayou Sorrel • Bayou Boeuf • Port Allen West Closure Complex & IHNC Surge Barrier: • temporary sites during construction • permanent installation after completion
Bayou Sorrel Lock – Project Status • Preconstruction, Engineering, and Design (PED) efforts have resulted in a +35% Design Document package for the selected alternative. • Currently the Corps is updating and confirming costs for the navigation and flood risk management reduction component of the project. This is being done to assure compliance with WRDA 1986, Section 902 statutory language. • Contingent upon Federal funding and approvals construction could begin as soon as 2013.
