  10. Sewage is made up of following constituents • ORGANIC IMPURITIES e.g. urine, waste from kitchen, animals, plants, pesticides • INORGANIC IMPURITIES e.g.phosphates,nitrates,metals like iron, copper • NUTRIENTS e.g. nitrogen, phosphorus • BACTERIA & MICROBES e.g. typhoid microbe

GOOD HABITS OF USING WATER • Turn off the tap while brushing. • Mop the floor instead of washing. • Repair the leaking taps or inform the elders. • Solid food remains should be thrown in the dustbin • Cooking oils & fats should not be thrown down the drain – blocks the drain • Chemicals like paints, solvents, medicines kill microbes that purify water
