  2. Country of origin • I was born may 11, 1888 in a Siberian town of Tyumen in Russia.

  3. Year of emigration • Me and my Family moved out of Russia and into America in 1893 to escape from the pogroms of Russia.

  4. Reasons For Emigration • My Family moved away from Russia when the Tsar Alexander II was assassinated and the Russian community blamed the Jews.

  5. Port of Entry • My Family moved into America through New York City.

  6. Occupation • I was a extremely popular singer in the early 1900’s..

  7. Home and living conditions • My home in 1000 Islands, Alexandria Bay, New York. His living conditions were fairly well.

  8. Religion • I am Jewish, because of that he was forced to leave his homeland.

  9. Was he received by the native community? • Yes, shortly after my father died I became a street singer and restaurant owners hired me to sing. Which began my music career.

  10. Irving Berlin’s contribution to America My music was inspiring to everyone who listened to it. I changed the way people thought andthe way people lived.
