  3. Human & Physical features To begin with, during my research, I learned a lot more about Guatemala’s human and physical features. In Guatemala, the population is 12,710,000. The life expectancy is 70.3, which means some people get to live longer. The literacy rate(72) and the passenger cars(62) are low numbers compared to the U.S.A. In particular, things in Guatemala are increasing like the life expectancy, literacy rate, and the passenger cars. The doctors in Guatemala are decreasing. In conclusion, things in Guatemala are improving.
  4. Flag Guatemala’s flag may seem simple but the flag has a lot to it. Likewise, the meaning of the quetzel symbolizes liberty. The flag also has crossed rifles, a parchment paper, crossed swords, and a bay laurel crown that are important to guatemala.in addition, the colors of the flag have their roots in the flag of the former federation of the united provinces of Central America. The flag consist three equal vertical bands of light blue and white with coats. As a result, in 2008 the flag if indigenous peoples was adopted by law and is shown together with the national flag of Guatemala in all events featuring president of the republic since then. Guatemala used a flag with horizontal bands from 1825 to 1851. the new flag is now with vertical stripes and has the Guatemala coat of arms. However, the current flag was adopted in December 26, 1997. in conclusion, the Guatemala flag consists so much information behind it.
  5. Government Guatemala's government type is constitutional democratic republic The head of the government is president Otto Fernando Perez Molina The constitution was amended in 1993 A national holiday is independence day, 15 September 1821 The constitution was last adopted in May 31, 1985
  6. Religion In Guatemala, some religions are Roman Catholic, Protestants, others, and some are non-religious. To begin with, the main religion is Catholic which is 38.2 in Guatemala. In the religion Catholic adherents worldwide is 2 billion. Catholic people believe in one God is a Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Catholic people’s human situation and life’s purpose is that all have sinned and are there by separated from God. Salutation is through faith in Christ and for some sacraments and good works. Likewise, Catholic people believe that in after life eternal heaven or hell, or temporary purgatory. Ordinarily, Catholic people practice by prayer, Bible study, baptism, church o Sundays, and numerous holidays.

  8. Animals, Plants,& Natural Resources Did you know that in Guatemala there are so many animals, plants and natural resources. An animal in Guatemala is the deer mouse. The deer mouse are found in almost all kind of habitats. Most deer mouse can be a factor in the spread of some human diseases, which can be life threatening for humans. Particularly, another animal in Guatemala is the eastern cotton tail. The eastern cotton tail is a very private animal and rarely comes out into open fields, preferring to live in busy areas. Like wise, the howler monkey is also in Guatemala. The mantled howler monkey are native to south and central America forest. These monkeys are famous for their loud howls, which can travel three miles through a dense forest. A plant in Guatemala is the lycaste skinneri var ablar. This flower is the national flower of Guatemala. This flower is also very rare and endangered species, and is very hard to see in the wild. As usual, the jacaranda tree is also a plant in Guatemala. The jacaranda tree is said to mean fragrant in a native south American. These have a blue to purple or white colored flower, but depending on their species the jacaranda tress are also used by the Chinese to make purple dye and the timber of some species is used in wood work. A natural resource in Guatemala is petroleum. Guatemala's petroleum production raised to 10,945.5 barrels per day. Also Guatemala has four sedimentary basins located in the north, south, and eastern. In conclusion, the animals, plants, and natural resources in Guatemala are interesting and have it’s history.
