  6. Israel in Prophecy Abraham Abraham was the first Hebrew….. ….but he is not the first Jew. “Hebrew” comes from “Heber” is a contraction of “Judah” “Jew” comes from “Jacob’s” name change “Israel” Since the Babylonian captivity, the 3 terms have been used interchangeably.

  7. Land Promised to Abraham Includes: • all of present-day Israel • all of Lebanon • southern half of Syria • northern 2/3 of Jordan • almost all of Iraq • northern portion of Saudi Arabia 21
