  6. Recent History • Public Review of Draft Program EIR • September 15 – November 7, 2011 • Gillespie Field Development Council supported project on September 20, 2011 • Draft Program EIR Public Review Open House on October 5, 2011

  7. Public Comments • 87 public comment letters received • 70 in favor of Proposed Project • Expansion of aviation facilities • Economic growth • 7 against Proposed Project • Noise and safety concerns under flight path • 10 neutral (responsible agencies and stakeholders) • Program EIR analysis

  8. Next Steps • March 14, 2012 – CEQA Final Program EIR certification by Board of Supervisors • NEPA Draft EA • Public review tentatively anticipated February 2012 • FAA EA completion tentatively anticipated May 2012

Recommended Motion The Gillespie Field Development Council recommends the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors approve the Gillespie Field 70-Acre Redevelopment Project, certify the Program Level Environmental Impact Report and authorize DPW to apply for and accept grant funds for construction of the project.
