Purpose • Formed in response to Germanys attempts at creating an airforce • Created to unite against Germany’s re-armament policies, and re-affirm the Locarno Pact • Was made to lay out economic sanctions against Germany for publicly ignoring the treaty of Versailles Premiers at close of Stresa Conference
Why it Failed • Great Britain signs naval treaty with Germany allowing for re-armament of its navy • No country in the front wanted to attack Germany • Italy’s involvement with Germany • Germany provides Italy with Supplies • Germany and Italy support fascists in Spain • No threats made by the Stresa front were ever acted upon and was little more than idle threats
