Background • Tbilisi Sea – water reservoir was built in 50th of last centaury • In 2005 research study done by our organization and was concluded environmental degradation of water, in particular, reduced water quality due to pollution from urban or land-based activities. • By Tbilisi administration was requested to continue our works with this reservoir for making some decisionin scope of environmental management for protection this reservoir

INTRODUCTION 1 • Conflict using the water resource of Tb.Sea • WHO Guideline on Recreation Water and Beach Quality (2002) • Tbilisi council Legislation -For the rehabilitation and development of the units of social infrastructure, e.g. education, culture, sport & the different projects must be worked out this kind the projects must be supported.   6. PROJECT DESCRIPTION • Overall objective Make plan for Sustainable Environmental management of the Tbilisi Sea Local Environmental Management in Urban Areas - Skopje 2011

Immediate objectives : Identification the sector for recreation use belong the Tbilisi sea area and produce the Master Plan on its development • Site survey (identification the pollution spots and usage) • Stakeholders workshop …. • Mapping of the territory • Using the GIS methods • Identification the suitable sector for recreation reason belong the beach • To mark out the sanitary protection zones • Promote the participation of the community, stakeholders and local administration in decision-making process • Find out community interests by meetings providing and discussions • Worked-out recommendations for the Master Plan. • Make the economic evaluation of needed works. • Develop the Master Plan on safe recreation in Tbilisi Sea area.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT and ORGANISATION • Project manager is responisible for the reporting,leading the financial condition of the project and for strong communication with the experts. • Consultants are responsible for make their part of activity according to the ToRs worked out concern the project tasks • Assistants – resposible for the organization of events, meetings, informaion spreding, materials printing, & Local Environmental Management in Urban Areas - Skopje 2011

Specific things I learned from the period in Sweden • 1,non-stop thinking concern environment • 2, Developing tools, administration • 3, public involment - not forgettable impression I have received from people who make their input for less water sanitation and clean agriculture. Visiting the non water sanitation place organised by Ms.Onya. I really admire with the enthusiasm of the people who bring there enforces for saving water resources as part as of a global process of sustainable development. Successes and challenges: Changes I have been able to effect in my own work, and within my organization: • 1, The changes of the Project were presented and discussed with our organization members,. • 2, The changes I discussed with representative of Tbilisi government. - For this moment I have his oral agreement on possible financing for implementation of project in close future as far as the last version of the project will be ready and presented to them Local Environmental Management in Urban Areas - Skopje 2011
