CFS Implementation • CFS Data Warehouse Reporting > Systemwide Data Warehouse – updated nightly > Access via centralized reporting infrastructure (OBIEE) > Security framework controls data access > Data Warehouse overview
Data Warehouse • The Data Warehouse (DW) will replace the campus custom reports such as nVision and the 020 Report as well as others for Central reporting, PO and requisitions. • The DW offers a variety of basic and advanced reporting formats users. • Report options give user the ability to create the report the way they want to see it. • Basic DW Training will be offered beginning late November. Advanced training will begin in 2011.
CFS Implementation January 2011 • Users will have access to the old database to run reports through December 2010. • Beginning Jan. 2011, new transactions will only be in CFS and the DW. • Summary ledger balances for 2009 and July –Dec 2010 will be copied into CFS and the DW • CFS and DW will be accessed through a CSU Portal Link
How to get ready now • QUERIES • Queries have to conform to CFS guidelines • Some query names have changed • Some queries will not be in CFS • Refer to the CFS query list for name changes • TIP: Change your Favorite Query list to the new names, delete the old names from your list
How to get ready now, cont. • The MyCoyote Finance “shortcut” page will not be available in the CSU Portal. • Some Finance users already use the 9.0 Menu structure. • Begin using the FIN 9.0 link on MyCoyote Finance Tab now to become familiar with the structure. • The 9.0 Main Menu is similar to what we will see in CFS • Use the Navigation Guide and begin using the 9.0 format now. • You can still set up My Favorites for your reports and processes. • Navigate to the page and click the Add to My Favorites in the upper Right corner of the page
FIN 9.0 Menu • This is the menu we will use in CFS. • It is recommended to begin using it now to become familiar with the navigation. • The CSU Custom Rpts/Interfaces link will not be in CFS • Return to My Coyote link will not be in CFS
The CSU Custom Rpt/Interfaces link and related reports will not be available in CFS. You may add these as Favorites on the 9.0 Menu and use them until Dec. 31, 2010.
