The stonecutter story There once was a stonecutter, and he was doing his job. The sun was beating down on him, and he was sweating……..
Then he wished he was the sun, and his wish came true. He made people hot and made their crops dry, and one day he realized that there was something in his way. He couldn't touch the earth anymore. Hummmmm “What could it be?” he thought. Then it hit him—it was a cloud……….
Then he wished to be a cloud, and his wish came true again! He stormed on everyone and everything. He made everybody miserable! He flooded everything. Then he realized he was moving and couldn't resist it! He didn't know what was pushing him, and then he found out—it was the wind…….
Then he wished to be the wind and his wish come true once again! But then he realized something that he couldn't move the mountain so then again he wished himself to be a mountain.
What is there mightier than a mountain? He asked himself, “Not the sun, the cloud, or the wind…. What could it be?” With great effort, he looked down, and there, far below, at his very base and he heard ting ting tingting….what could it be?
He found out it was a stonecutter he wished to be a stonecutter again and realized there wasn’t something that has all the power. There was something out there that was always better!
