1. Project Scope (1) • Target:RHMT in 25 Regions in Tanzania • Implementing Agency: MOHSW & JICA • Project Period: Oct. 2011 – Oct 2014 • Project Purpose • Performance of all RHMTs in supporting CHMTs and RRHMTs is improved.

2. Roles and Functions of RHMT Institutionalised… • “Functions of Regional Health Management System ” • (2014) approved by MOHSW. • Coordination and consultation with PMORALG and other departments of MOHSW. • “Implementation Arrangement” clarified.
3. Guidelines and tools for RHMTs improved • RMSS-C, RMSS-H tools developed through extensive consultation. • RMSS Manual approved by MOHSW. • RHMT planning and reporting formats reviewed to revise the Guideline to be approved by MOHSW.
Regional Management Supportive Supervision (RMSS) • SS for proper functioning of offices in health public administration • 2008-2011: Development and use of Central Management Supportive Supervision (CMSS). • 2011-2014 : Development/dissemination of RMSS to Council Health Management Teams (RMSS-C) and to Regional Referral Hospital Management Teams (RMSS-H).
Achievement of RMSS • RHMT conducted RMSS to all CHMT • RHMT as well as CHMT generally satisfied with the RMSS tools • (follow up and survey in 2013 - 2014) • RMSS to RRHMT • RMSS-H was disseminated from Oct 2013 and the status will be reviewed through Q3 and Q4 Reports
Materials • Functions of Regional Health Management System • RHMT Annual Planning and Reporting Guideline • RMSS Manual (RMSS-C, RMSS-H) • Training Modules on Regional Health Management • Booklet “Good Practices on RHMT Performances” • Compilation of 16 cases by RHMT • RHMT Performance • RHMT Support to the Regional Referral Hospital • RHMT Support to the CHMT • RHMT Support to Health Service Delivery
Other Achievements • Contribution to clarification of CHOP format & processes (cooperation w/ Hospital Reform Team) • Promotion of working relationship between RHMT and RRHMT • Networking/peer learning among the 25 RHMT
