The scope of this project includes upgrading the NMSIIS software to the most current software level, refreshing the hardware platform for all environments, and moving to a SaaS model of support. The end results are extended functionality and full support for all components of the system. The NMSIIS application is fully supported at the most current and stable release of the software. The new system offers bi-directional data exchange capabilities, both in flat file and HL7 format, as well as enhanced tracking and reporting features. NM is now part of a consortium with other states which use the WIR Immunization Registry(WIR) model to collaborate in areas such as enhancements, application features and training. NMSIIS Upgrade and Migration to SaaS Scope Major Accomplishments Key Lessons Learned • The project team did not have a designated testing engineer. Many of the post-production issues that have surfaced could have been prevented with a more thorough and structured testing methodology.
