  2. Sotnikova Adelina Dmitrievna • Adelina Dmitriyevna Sotnikova (on July 1, 1996, Moscow) — the Russian figure skater acting in female single driving. The first in the Soviet and Russian history the Olympic champion (2014) in female single driving in individual offset.

  3. She was born in Moscow. Adelina's great-grandfather is the Hero of the Soviet Union, the fighter pilot Alexander Vasilyevich Kochetov . The father was the police officer, worked in criminal investigation department, then in a call center . from Adelina Sotnikova's life

  4. Adelina Sotnikova for the first time stood on the skates • She started skating at the age of 4 in a skating rink "Youzhny" in Moscow nearest to her house. When she was seven years old she was taken to Central Club of Soviet Army. In 2004 the trainer Elena Buyanova (Vodorezova) began to work with the girl.

  5. Olympic Games 2014 • At the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi Adelina didn't participate in team tournament, but in the short program of the main tournament (Sotnikova was called as "Carmen“). She became the second, having missed forward Yong And Kim on 0,28 points, and in free skating she became the first and won the Olympic Games. The general point — 224,59.

  6. AdelinaSotnikova's victories • In 2008 Adelina won the championship of Russia. She repeated thereby the achievement of her tutor Elena Vodorezova who became the champion of the USSR when she was 12(1976).

  7. Awards and sports ranks. • Friendship award (on February 24, 2014) — for a big contribution to physical culture and sport development, high sporting achievements at the XXII Olympic winter Games of 2014 in the city of Sochi. • The medal "For Strengthening of the Fighting Commonwealth" (The Ministry of Defence, 2014) — for a big contribution to physical culture and sport development, high sporting achievements at the XXII Olympic winter Games of 2014 • Honoured Master of Sports of Russia (on February 20, 2014). • Master of sports of Russia of the international class (on February 14, 2012).

  8. First tournaments. • The first international tournament, stage of a junior series of the Grand Prix 2010 — 2011 in Austria, Adelina won, having outstripped the next competitor, American Christina Gao, more than on 10 points.

  9. Inclusion in a youth national team • In 2012 Sotnikova was included in national team for participation in Junior Olympic Games in Innsbruck at which she won a silver medal .

Adelina Sotnikova's debut • During the debut in the European championship of 2013 Adelina Sotnikova with a score 193.99 became the silver prize-winner, having missed forward only the acting world champion Carolina Costner who has gained 194.71 points. Sotnikova's silver medal became the first medal of the European superiority for the Russian female driving since 2006, since Irina Slutskaya's withdrawal from sports. In the European championship of 2014 again she became the silver prize-winner.

  11. Choice of profession. • In 2013 Adelina left external secondary school and arrived on a correspondence department of RGUFK (future specialty — the figure skating coach)

Participation in the championships and victory in them. • According to rules ISU Adelina can participate in the "adult" World Cups and Europe since 2013, however it had the right to take part in series of the Grand Prix of a season 2011 — 2012. It was declared on the Cup of China 2011 and Cup of Russia 2011 tournaments, and won at these competitions two bronze medals. In the final of the Grand Prix she didn't pass. In December, 2011 Adelina for the first time won "adult" international tournament — the Gold skate of Zagreb, and won the third national champion title later
