  27. On April 13, 1976, on Jefferson’s birthday, the $2 bill was again printed for people to use. • The government hoped that people would choose the $2 bill instead of using the $1 bill. • Why would the government want people to use the $2 bill?

  28. Our government wanted people to use the $2 bill because it hoped to print half as many $1 bills. This would save the government time and money by printing fewer bills.
