Project Overview • Purpose / Objective • FY 2007: Recommend an integrated email/calendar solution, with accompanying business model, to SGG • FY 2008: Provide a centrally offered solution for integrated email/ calendar that enhances collaboration and productivity among users, and which serves as the foundation for future collaboration capabilities • Scope • Included: messaging, scheduling and contact list management • Excluded: document management and additional collaboration tools • Note: Document management identified as essential need on campus. Will be treated as separate project but considered in IE&C evaluation indirectly (via assessment of vendor strategic roadmap and solution interoperability) IT Services IEC Discovery Project
Project Overview Timeline June 12: proposal for SGG Summer 2007: further fleshing out service and support model FY 2008: implementation (if proposal approved) Challenges Diverse platforms: mix of PC, Mac, Linux; proliferation of client tools Aggressive timeframe: need to be efficient without sacrificing quality Building buy-in: cannot mandate change on campus April 17, 2007 IT Services IEC Discovery Project page 3
