CSCS • Independent organisation – Board members (unions, federations etc) • ConstructionSkills – Administrates only • Requirement for most major projects:- • MHBG; Sainsburys; UKCG; etc • OGC (Office of Government Commerce) – state “stipulates that government clients must require that all members of the supply teams who are workers or a regular visitor to their construction sites are registered on the CSCS scheme. “

  6. CSCS – How to get a card • Quickest and easiest route – call SkillsDirect services and they will do everything • Call 0844 248 5262 • Cost £24.47 card; £17.50 H&S test • Have you the correct qualifications?

CSCS – How to get qualified • To obtain the relevant card for your trade/occupation you will need the relevant qualification. • Blue Cards – NVQ 2/Apprenticeship • Gold Cards – NVQ 3/Advanced Apprenticeship • Gold Cards (supervisors) – NVQ 3 Supervisory Occupation • Platinum Cards (Managers) – NVQ 4 or Professional Qualification (listed on website) • Black Cards (Senior Manager) – NVQ 5 or Professional Qualification (As above)

(Others) • Red Cards – Trainees • Green Cards – Labouring Only – 2010 requirements • White Cards – Construction related occupations (no qualification available) • Yellow (professionals) – not site based (listed on website) • Yellow – visitors only

CSCS – How to get qualified – what if I don’t have a qualification • OSAT (On Site Assessment) • – Assessed on site by qualified occupation specific assessor • EWPA (Experienced Worker Practical Assessment) • - Profile visit & 2 days intensive assessments & professional discussions (off site) • On achievement, grants available to registered employers
