Objectives for 2008/2009 • Development of new products and services • Positioning of EDTNA/ERCA towards an international concept • Work closely with industry and universities and introducetailored educational and research projects • Further develop the QualityManagement System throughout the Association

  4. Did we achieve ourobjectives for 2008/2009 ? Development of new products and services EDTNA/ERCA has focused on adapting and developingproductsand services for its membership and e-membership • For the first time in the long history of the EDTNA/ERCA, we launch 3 new handbooks at this Conference: Renal transplantation - a guide to clinical practice kindly supported by Bristol Myers–Squibb International Peritoneal Dialysis – a guide to clinical practicekindly supported by Baxter Europe Haematology and the patient with CKD – an introductoryguide, kindly supported by Roche UK, Syner-Med UK and Vifor Pharma

  5. Did we achieve ourobjectives for 2008/2009 ? Development of new products and services EDTNA/ERCA has focused on adapting and developingproductsand services for its membership and e-members • JoRC Supplement on: Management of Mineral and Bone disorders in Chronic Kidney Failure has been already distributed to our members • Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression Project results are being presented at this Conference.

Positioning of EDTNA/ERCA towards an international concept EDTNA/ERCA continues to explore the possibility of closer collaboration withnational and international associations. We have established contact with a number of associations about future collaboration. • Signed collaborative agreement with CANNT(Canada) • Signed collaborative agreement with SOBEN (Brazil) • Signed collaborative agreement with RSA (Australasia) • Signed collaborative agreement with NKF (USA),resulted in joint KDIGO session at the Hamburg Conference EDTNA/ERCA established an ILM positions • International Link member for Australia • International Link member for Canada • International Link member for Thailand

  7. Did we achieve ourobjectives for 2008/2009 ? Work closely with industry and universities and introduce tailored educational and research projects EDTNA/ERCA aimed to increase the number of tailored projects and implement them with our partners at the international and national levels. • Growing list of corporate members • Diamond partnership with Gambro has been successfully established • 3rdFresenius Middle East Project was held in Egypt, 4th is planned for 2010 • FMC and Diaverum coursehave been successfully endorsed • New endorsement applicant:Genzyme Germany • Operational Industry Advisory Board • DOPPS IV. (in 6 countries managed by EDTNA/ERCA)

  8. Go Green in Dialysis! A campaign to achieve more sustainability in dialysis care Our partnership with international industry partners is becoming stroger. New joint EDTNA/ERCA and Fresenius Medical Care project “ Go green in dialysis" is being lanched at this Conference.The project duration has been agreed for 3 years and we have developed the following project objectives: • Create awareness for environmental aspects in dialysis • Change habits for a more “environmental friendly” dialysis • Measure environmental changes/savings • Prepare environmental guidelines for dialysis

Further develop the QualityManagement System throughout the Association EDTNA/ERCA review its current Quality Management System and documents and will apply for the ISO 9001:2008 certification within the next 4 years. • Conference Department and Secretariat Merge, HR utilization • Membership Managment under umbrella of the Secretariat • Executive Director, Secretariat Co-ordinator and Publication Link position establishment, on voluntary base, effective from September • Policy & Procedure document matrix harmonization • Processes review and definition • Establishment of performance appraisal for contractors • Quality Management Chair on post

Objectives for 2009-2011 Enhance and Maintain the continuity of the good collaboration with industry FromSeptember 1st 2009 the Executive Director Jitka Pancirova, will be on post to directly liase with industry partners and keep continuity for projects, sponsorship and international conferences

  15. Objectives for 2009-2011 Further develop the QualityManagement System throughout the Association • EDTNA/ERCA will review its current Quality Management documents and apply for the ISO 9001:2008 certification within the next 4 years, as this is ongoing strategy since 2008

Objectives for 2009/2011 • Establish closer links withrenal/non-renal associations • Establish closer links with other International Associations • Establish closer links with Universities for future developments in education & research in renal care • Establish closer collaboration with National Associations and new projects which will promote continuity to both sides • Establish Link Members in countries with no Key Member

Objectives for 2009/2011 Positioning of EDTNA/ERCA towards an international concept • EDTNA/ERCA will provide a platform to allow international members to take active part in educational and research activities in order to improve the global quality of renal care and disseminate scientific results of the Association. This is ongoing strategy since 2008.

Accreditation System • A delegate badge includes a unique barcode • A delegate must ensure their badge is scanned by a hostess when entering and leaving a session, using the wireless barcode scanner • The scanner tracks the registration number, entrance time, exit time and credits sessions attended • Overnight the database is updated • Delegates can pick up their accreditation certificate from the registration desk prior to leaving the conference • The statistical data of attendance and activity in sessions is used by EDTNA/ERCA after the conference to inform the development of future scientific programmes
