RE/SE/H’ed MK Childnet: Free Myth vs Reality: PSHE toolkit • A practical online safety PSHE toolkit with films and lesson plans to explore online issues with young people aged 11-14. • With Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) becoming statutory in all schools from September 2020, schools need practical, thoughtful and helpful resources to help them teach RSE. • Myth vs Reality, our new PSHE Toolkit for 11-14s explores the topics of online pornography, healthy relationships and body image. NSPCC Updates Relationships education, relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education: statutory guidance The Department for Education (DfE) has published statutory guidance for schools in England on the teaching of relationships education in primary schools, relationship and sex education in secondary schools, and physical health and mental wellbeing education in state funded primary and secondary schools. The new curriculum will be mandatory from September 2020, however, schools are encouraged to adopt the new curriculum from September 2019. The NSPCC has produced a CASPAR briefing summarising the guidance setting out key points including: developing a policy, content, parents’ right to withdraw, whole school approach and safeguarding.
