Sin continues its assault on families, seen in both ancient Jerusalem and Corinth. Stand firm against immorality and remember the Kingdom Mindset. Paul's words in I Corinthians 6:9-20 highlight sanctification and glorifying God in our bodies.

Part Four I Corinthians 6:9-20
Nehemiah 4:7 Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and
Nehemiah 4:7 that the breaches began to be closed, they were very angry.
Nehemiah 4:8 All of them conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause a disturbance in it.
Nehemiah 4:9 But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night.
Nehemiah 4:14 When I saw their fear, I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people: “Do not be afraid of them; remember the
Nehemiah 4:14 Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.”
In Part One, we mentioned that the concepts of Marriage, Family, Moms, Dads, Husbands and Wives are definitely under attack.
We even discussed this effort in our culture to redefine everything!
In Part Two, we mentioned that another way the family has been under attack in recent years is in the area of abortion.
In Part Three, we paused to remember, honor and salute those who gave everything for our freedom, faith and families.
Today, in Part Four of Fighting for the Family, we see that sin still wants to ravage the family and we must stand against it.
The same attack was ragging in the Church at Corinth back in the first century.
The City of Corinth was a wealthy commercial center, a hub of commerce and questionable character.
It was a city noted for everything depraved, heathenistic and debauched.
Paul saw it as a strategic location for the Good News of Jesus Christ.
But the church struggled with the sanctification process and sin was creeping in and blurring the truth.
I Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
I Corinthians 6:9 Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
I Corinthians 6:10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
I Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.
I Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
I Corinthians 6:13 Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food; but God will do away with both of them.
I Corinthians 6:13 Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord is for the body.
I Corinthians 6:14 Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.
I Corinthians 6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? May it never be!
I Corinthians 6:16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a harlot is one body with her? For He says, “The two will become one flesh.”
I Corinthians 6:17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
I Corinthians 6:18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.
I Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and that you are not your own?
I Corinthians 6:20 For you have been bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
It’s extremely hard for us as Americans to understand a Kingdom Mindset.
He will establish His Kingdom and rule and reign in righteousness.
