  2. The Main Idea: • To mainstream environmental issues into educational practice in the Carpathian schools through regional cooperation. • To create tools/educational materials which can be spread to schools • To establish environmental awareness and better connectivity • To facilitate environmental education interaction throughout the Carpathian region

  3. Themes: • Nature protection and protected areas • Including sustainable marketing (local crafts/natural products) • PET/Waste • Mobility, energy and climate change

  4. Outputs: • An Internet platform for cooperation • An informative and interactive training tour • A Carpathian and environmental tool, similar to the Danube Box

  5. Outcomes: • A strategy for interactive Carpathian environmental education program • Better communication and coordination among the Carpathian countries on eco-education • Schools equipped with eco-educational materials and teachers trained in using them • Better awareness of the mobility-related environmental issues • Better awareness in the countries about the Carpathian environmental/mountain issues

  6. The Planning Meeting • The state of Environmental education in various Carpathian countries • How could the gaps in eco-education in the countries be met within a trans-Carpathian approach? • Designing the “training kit” for the Road tour: • what edu materials are already available? • how the materials can be enhanced/completed: • additions/translations into national languages; • Deciding on the stops and workshops/activities in every stop; • PET-recycling project;

  7. The Carpathian Education Kit • What age groups will be targeted • What can be the input form every country in the region • What can be the input from every stop in the Training tour • Participant from each country will add to the Move4Nature tool kit something from his/her nation • The Danube Box example • Experiences with teacher training in the use of the Box • The use of the box by the students

  8. The Training Tour The team will travel through several rural schools in the Carpathian region of Romania. • Tentatively 5 stops will be made in each country • During each stop, a 2-3 day interactive training-experience exchange workshop will be held: the teaching tools-training conducted, materials distributed, the idea of Carpathian/Caucasus space will be communicated, and each school will be asked to contribute to the Carpathian/Caucasus educational kit

  9. During the tour (?), the team will evaluate the state of environmental education/training needs of the rural communities: • - the state of the rural communities/schools • - the state of environmental education in the schools and the existing gaps • - what age groups should be targeted (perhaps, a wider age range should be considered, or some additional education approaches, such as training of community members in the marketing of locally produced crafts and natural products or sustainable agriculture)

  10. Outcomes: • The environmental training of the educators conducted • The training materials distributed • Awareness spread about environmental issues in the region • The Carpathian educational kit enriched with local inputs

  11. Follow-up • Internet platform • Carpathian educational training tool kit • Training tours in other Carpathian countries • Joint (inter)regional youth/educators’ events
