  2. Arsham states that, “Teaching material and teaching style must reflect the change in the real world, which students may not know because they have not been there yet” (Arsham 6).

  3. CISD Vision A school district must have a clear vision of how the tools of technology can be used to improve teaching and learning. It is through envisioning the future that possibilities are translated into goals, goals into plans, and plans into actions. The capacity of the school/district, through leadership, to operate from a shared vision of technology that is characterized by the vision that, A comprehensive, integrated approach to technology-enriched teaching and learning will improve student performance.

  10. CISD Technology Goal CISD will provide technology infrastructure, tools, and solutions to meet theadministrative requirements of the District and to maximize learning.

  11. Tolley and Shulruf (2009), stated that, “The function of data are to provide the building materials to construct a clear and accurate picture of the school, its students and their performance, and its relationships with other institutions and the community” (p. 1201).

  12. Star Chart The Teacher STaR Chart is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, as well as meeting the goals of the district. Texas STaR Chart (2006-2020)

Star Chart The Texas Teacher STaR Charts is an assessment tool developed around the four key areas of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Leadership Administration and Instructional Support Infrastructure for Technology Texas STaR Chart (2006-2020)

  14. As stated in the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology (TLRPT), “There is no one-size-fits-all model to language teaching and learning” (49).

  15. Maximize Teaching and Learning Campuses will have the technological resources to support the integration of technologies. Technology is seamlessly applied across all subject and content areas. Students will be technology literate by the end of 8th grade.

  17. Ongoing, sustained, high-quality professional development is essential to prepare teachers to meet the needs of their students by increasing student engagement and learning (TLRPT pg 76).

  18. Enhance Professional Practices Teachers and administrators will have the technological resources to enhance professional practice. Professional development focuses on the technology capabilities of educators

  19. The infrastructure of a school is the critical element of support for all aspects of technology (TLRPT pg 101).

  20. Infrastructure to Support All Functions District WAN, campus LANs, and wireless connectivity is reliable and adequate to support all District operations.

  21. The process of using technological resources in schools is complex and requires school-wide innovation such as vision-building, administrator commitment, and skilled leadership to play pivotal roles in success. Providing the essential leadership and instructional support is critical (TLRPT 92).

  22. Support Administration and Operations Software applications are installed and maintained to support productive systems for learning and administration.

  23. Evaluation Evaluation Process:The 4 goals of the Conroe ISD Technology Plan will be evaluated using the objectives under each goal. Evidence related to the objectives will be collected periodically from the Fall of 2009 through the Spring of 2012. Evaluation Participants: Curriculum staff, instructional technology staff, teachers, campus technology teams, media specialists, and campus administrative teams will work with an independent consultant and the districts Department of Planning, Research, and Evaluation to implement the evaluation process.

  24. Suggestions Increase appropriate hands on training and resources in technology Continue to use data such as the Star Chart to evaluate the technology.
