  1. Use of Animals In theWar. By Mira Bagaeen 9M

  2. Animalsin the wars - There were many animals present in wars. This was because they had very important jobs. There were 3 main animals … carrier pigeons,dogsand horses.

  3. horses Horses were used for transportation, to get to one place and to carry supplies. Horses are also fast runners which means that if there was any danger they would be able to escape easily. They were also good in charging so were used in part of the cavalry.

CARRIER PIGEONS Carrier pigeons were used to send messages along to the front line, headquarters etc. They were very important because they would be able to deliver letters to different places quickly. Carrier pigeons were able to fly long distances quickly. They would be able to travel up to 96km per day.

  5. DOGS. Dogs were also used to carry messages during the first world war. Humans preferred dogs because they can run faster for longer and on any type of ground. Dogs also reminded the soldiers of home and gave them comfort. They were a psychological comfort that took away the horrors of the war. Sources say that Hitler also kept a dog with him in the German trenches.

  6. memorials… The carrier pigeons were admired for their strength and speed. For delivering messages quickly. Dogs were also admired. As they were a comfort and company to most soldiers during the wars. Horses had a role to play during the world war. They were admired for their bravery. The were the key to transportation. The soldiers would not have been able to charge if it weren’t for them. These 3 animals had memorials built for them. For their bravery and the role they had during the war. Horses memorial.
