4. People who stayed faced another problem: swarms of grasshoppers James Grey(writer)came across a cloud of grasshoppers. He wrote later: The swarm was on us so suddenly that our windshield was solidly encrusted with splattered insects in a matter of seconds… our car was a ghastly mess. The crashing grasshoppers had given it a sickly, stinking green coating. The windshield wipers only created a gooey smear… In Weyburn(Saskatchewan)we made a deal with the son of a garage man to clean the grasshoppers off our car for a dollar. It took him almost two hours.
