Resolution 2012-040 Purposes and Duties • Provide a conduit for Citizen Input to the Board • Recommend individual street and neighborhood Planting Projects and Priority of projects • Assist the County in updating and revising a Consolidated Tree List • Assist in the dissemination of Public Information • Review and recommend revisions to the Sarasota County Code of Ordinances relating to trees for consideration by the Board • Nominate new Canopy Roads for consideration by the Board • Make other such Recommendations to the County as the Council may see fit consistent with the terms of this Resolution • Carry out Other such Duties as the Board may require

Planning for the Future • Comprehensive Plan ENV Policy 4.6.12. sets a tree canopy coverage goal of 40% within urban service boundary. • Past information/planning documents: • 2004 Urban Ecosystem Analysis. • 2006 DRAFT Urban Forestry Management Plan. • 2007 -2011 DRAFT Urban Forestry Five Year Strategic Plan. • Opportunity to revisit and explore new “report.”
