Rapid Growth is Expected to Continue A recent study determined that U.S. wind power generating capacity could grow from 11.5 GW in 2006 to more than 300 GW in 2020; this is an average annual growth rate of 15.5% per year for the next 23 years, with total construction expenditures of almost $500 billion.
