  1. Homemade EVO Valve Spring Compressor Tool

  2. Parts List • One O2 Sensor Socket • One 1”diameter washer (1/2” inside) • One 3” piece of ½” square metal tubing • One ~12”-16” piece of 1.5” wide steel bar (12 gauge) • One ~5’ piece of 1” square tubing (1/16” thickness) • One ~3’ piece of solid ½” round metal bar • A welder • Total cost: ~$35 and maybe 4 hours (less if you have a really good compressor and die grinder). I already had the O2 socket…I think they run about $10.

  3. Schematic

  4. O2 Sensor Socket Grind two or three areas on the O2 socket to prepare for the weld. Washer is 1” diameter with 0.5” inside hole. Tack weld it on.

  5. Yes, my welds are fugly Towers (qty 2) Cut the 1” square metal tube into 6.5” pieces Grind one end sharp to get a good weld Drill ½” hole near top (ream it slightly larger than ½”) Measure across your camshaft caps, cut the 1.5” wide metal bar to span the distance across the caps. Slot the base to match the inside cap bolts VIEW A-2 VIEW A-1 ½” hole 7/8” 6.5” Make triangular support with extra 1/8” bar – Weld it in place Weld bead around 4 sides Grind all 4 sides VIEW A-1 Slots ½” VIEW A-2 3/8” 4 11/16”

  6. Leverage Bar / Pivot Bar Take what you have left of the 1” square tube, and cut 2 rectangular slots on opposite sides 5.5’ 7.25” Top View 2’ ½” hole slightly reamed ¾” Side View ¼” hole slightly reamed 6.5” ~3” ¾” ½” square metal tubing

  7. Side View Assembly ½” round solid metal bar Use screw driver here The open side of the O2 socket will help catch the keepers

  8. Assembly Simple Screw driver works good here 3/8” to ½” converter if needed

  9. In Action Note: I had to grind the washer a bit to fit some valves close to the head

  10. Get permission from your wives to use the kitchen table (or send them away for the weekend ;) In Action
