Emotioner har traditionellt ansetts som fiende till kognition och rationalitet. • Men forskning visar att emotioner är viktiga för av fatta bra beslut i praktiska situationer. • När beslutssituationen är tvetydig, för mycket eller för lite information är det praktiska sättet att gå på magkänslan.

  5. Vem har emotioner: hjärnan, kroppen eller självet (mind)? • Reduktiv materialism: Självet är ett antal fysiska hjärntillstånd. • Emergent materialism: Självet är ett antal emergenta bioaktiviteter.
