Law Enforcement Struck-By August 15, 2018 • Detroit Police Officer FadiShukur who died Wednesday after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run nearly two weeks ago "had a magnetic smile," Police Chief James Craig said • Shukur, 30, was struck by a car at about 2:40 a.m. Aug. 4 in the 18000 block of West McNichols near Stahelin Avenue on the city's west side, officials said.
Towing and Recovery Struck-by June 13, 2018 • Nader Chehadi, 42, was killed when an SUV crashed into a school bus on the shoulder of eastbound I-94 near State Street in Pittsfield Township. He was at the rear of the bus, assisting the bus driver when he was killed, according to police. • Police say the driver of the SUV was unlicensed and made an abrupt lane change just before the crash. Fire Struck-By June 13, 2017 • Comstock Township Fire Chief Edward Switalski was hit and killed by a passing vehicle while responding to an “unknown accident” on eastbound I-94. Lansing Fire Department
EMS Struck-By January 26, 2008 • Cheryl Kiefer, 23, an emergency medical technician, died Saturday morning after an SUV rolled over her as she worked for Jackson Community Ambulance. • Kiefer and her partner were assisting a woman whose truck had spun into a ditch on I-94 near Kalmbach Road in Washtenaw County's Sylvan Township, when a 46-year-old man lost control of his SUV. • The vehicle rolled on top of Kiefer, pinning her between the SUV and the truck, police said. Michigan State Police car stops to assist in collision, is struck by another vehicle By Dane Sager Kelly - Web Producer Posted: 8:17 PM, March 03, 2019 DETROIT - According to authorities, just after 5 p.m. Sunday, a Michigan State Police cruiser was struck by a vehicle on the ramp from eastbound I-94 to westbound I-696. Police said a trooper had stopped to assist in policing a crash that had already occurred at the location. The trooper had exited the cruiser before it was struck.

Wright-Tallmadge Firefighters Association February 13, 2019 This morning we were called out to a minor accident on Lake Michigan Drive. 1882 (one of our brush trucks) was positioned 1/2 mile before the accident scene with the emergency lights activated to warn motorists of the emergency scene ahead. Unfortunately, 1882 was hit while it was blocking today. There were no injuries and 1882 doesn't appear to have sustained any major damage.

Michigan’s Steer It, Clear It Law – Section 618a (2010-PA-0010) • Unless the operator of a motor vehicle involved in a crash knows or reasonably should know that serious impairment of a bodily function or death has resulted from the crash, the operator or an other occupant of the motor vehicle who possesses a valid driver license shall remove the motor vehicle from the main traveled portion of the roadway into a safe refuge on the shoulder, emergency lane, or median or to a place otherwise removed from the roadway… • Failure to obey this law can result in a civil penalty
