3 Major Areas To Improve Rural Health In Odisha There have been many central and state government programmes focused in the development in rural areas of Odisha. Despite so many years of independence, there are some sections of the society that remain unprivileged and poor. This very fact affects on various whether it refers to livelihood, health, etc. Out of all, the health of people is of utmost importance and which still remains in a dismal condition.
Carrying out the rural development programmes in Odisha, the CSR initiatives taken by several companies would benefit the people of rural community in improving their health. The following areas need to improve. • • Sanitation – Poor sanitation is indeed the basic reason of life-threatening diseases as well. Due to the lack of toilets, people get forced to open defecation and urination. Hence, there is an urgent requirement that the initiatives take up the projects for building the toilets at first. It would successfully improve the rural health in Odisha. • • Drinking water – Absence of poor water bodies or untreated water may cause various diseases too. Thus, there is a need of water treatment plants so as to provide clean and treated water for consumption. This can positively effect in reducing the mortality rate. • • Health care – In rural areas, people find it difficult for any health care facilities nearby and ultimately have to travel distant places, due to which the health deteriorates further. Opening up of health centers and regular check up camps can reduce this ongoing trouble to improve rural health in Odisha. • Similarly, there are other programmes that can help with absolute development in the rural Odisha.
