  3. Graduation Requirements The Credit System High school students (Grades 10, 11, 12) operate on a credit system. For each class successfully completed, you earn one credit. Students require a minimum of 24 credits to graduate from Grade 12. 16 classes (credits) are compulsory for the English program. Therefore, students have a minimum of 8 electives. 17 courses (credits) are compulsory for the French Immersion program. Therefore, students have a minimum of 7 electives. French Immersion Students must have a minimum of 12credits in French Immersion classes/courses

Graduation Requirements English Program English Language Arts A10, B10, 20, A30 & B30 Native Studies 10 or History 10, Canadian Studies 30 and one other social science elective at the 20 or 30 level Science 10 and a science at the 20 level A Math 10 and a Math 20 Christian Ethics/Catholic Studies 10, 20 & 30 Wellness 10 or a Physical Education credit at the 20 or 30 level *At least 5 credits must be 30-level 10 = grade 10 courses 20 = grade 11 courses 30 = grade 12 courses

Advanced Placement • University Prep in: • AP ELA A30 & AP ELA B30 • AP Calculus 30 & AP Integral Calculus 30 • AP Psychology 20 & AP Psychology 30 • Can take this in grade 11 • AP Studio Art 30L & AP Visual Art 30 • AP Computer Science 30 (*teacher mentorship) • AP French 30 (*teacher mentorship) • AP Spanish 30 (*teacher mentorship) • Most AP classes take two semesters to complete and grant two high school credits. The university level final exam is written in May. Achieving a mark of 4 or 5 on the AP Exam may result in university 100-level credit. • More Rigorous: • More homework • More reading • More commitment

  9. Workplace Pathway Workplace and Apprenticeship Math will be offered in the second semester. This math class should be taken by students who know that their career and post-secondary path requires this math. Students taking this math, can also take any other math course offered in semester one. A second semester offering allows students that struggle in math with a second chance to earn a math if they are not successful in semester one math. Grade 10 Grade 11 Grade 12

  16. Learning Online Options: • Students must meet with an Administrator to develop an academic plan. • Parental permission is needed to take these courses.

  18. Regina Trades and Skills Centre TASCAP TRADES AND SKILLS CONSTRUCTION APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (Offered in both semesters – full time: 5 credits) Grade 11 is the best time to participate in this program

  19. What happens if students failed a class this year? Options: • Summer School online – Regina Catholic ($400) or Saskatoon Catholic ($400) • Summer School – in class through Regina Public School Division ($185-$310) • Retake the course at LeBoldus in the 2018-2019 academic year

  20. Why is it so important to pick your classes carefully? The classes students choose now, will determine how many sections (classes) we make for each course. These classes also determine which careers an individual can go into when he/she is done high school.

  21. Planning For The Future Students who are undecided about their education, career or life direction should: Get to know themselvesby assessing their knowledge, and skills. Think about their interests, personality and values. Do an interest inventory (Strong Interest Inventory) or utilize www.myBlueprint.ca

Planning For The Future • Try more electives or get more involved in school clubs and projects. • Visit Student Services & listen to announcements about Career Fairs, Post-Secondary Workshops or Spend-A-Day Programs. • Re-Evaluate their Direction by keeping options open and re-assessing them each year.
