  3. Orgin(s) Native to Africa, Asia, and Europe Introduced as an ornamental plant in 1897 along the Saint Lawrence River Noxious in CT, VT, WA Minnesota, Michigan, and Washington have laws that control the transport and ownership of this plant with criminal offenses

  4. Control • Chemical - Herbicides- help with short term control, and can reduce spread in dense clusters • Mechanical - Repeated cuttings below the water reduce density, but do not kill it • Combination - Best method to control this problem

  5. Characteristics • Flowering Rush 2 Cytotypes sexual and Asexual Diploid is most common Rhizomes; Bulbs; and Seeds Seeds can last Years
