Introduction • In Darfur, the government of Sudan has already killed 400,000 people and displaced more than 2,500,000 people. Above, A member of the Janjaweed resting on a rock with a bomb provided by the Sudan government.
What is it anyway? • The genocide started in the early 2003. The two rebel groups by the name of SLA and JEM started a riot. The government started to respond by recruiting local tribes and setting an attack against the 2 rebel groups. The assaulting group is called the Janjaweed. What are they doing in order to stop this? • Only, 7,000 African Union supported by the UN (United Nations) have been deployed to help the civilians who have been in the attacks. There were 6 peace talks to stop the treat but the plan failed miserably. Above, the African Union soldiers supported by the UN (United Nations)
How can I help? • You can always go to our website and find the take action page to donate or spread the word to many people. Above, a eye catching poster made by one of the NGOs that help Darfur from its violence
