The history of the LEVER Project: The Know-Net Project… • Know-Net Project was an ESPRIT project that started in October 1998 and was completed in March 2000. • The objective of Know-Net was to create and commercially exploit an innovative holistic paradigm for knowledge management within business organizations by: developing, applying, testing and evaluating • an ICT-based KM Tool and • a set of methods • that will enable the creation, retention, sharing and leveraging of knowledge assets in business organizations

The Know-Net Results • The result of the Know-Net projectis a total KM solution, offering: • an innovative approach to corporate knowledge management that fuses in a unique way the knowledge-as-a-product (content) and knowledge-as-a-process (context) perspectives ; • a modular method that guides companies through the journey of managing knowledge for business advantage; and • an intranet-based software system, which integrates content management, collaboration and communication with advanced search and retrieval facilities
