  1. Romeo and Juliet Test Essay English I – Mrs. Michel 2013

  2. English I Essay There are many characters and forces responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. Choose three characters or forces in the play that you believe are responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s suicides. In a five-paragraph essay, prove that the three characters or forces you chose played a major role in the fate of Shakespeare’s main characters.

  3. Honors Essay Options: • Write a character analysis of Juliet. Be sure to use details from the play to support what the critic says below about Juliet: “Shakespeare’s real miracle was Juliet, transformed from and adolescent arrogantly eager to outdo her elders to an appealing child-woman, barely fourteen, who learns to mix courage with her innocence, yet falls victim to a world that only briefly and unintentionally, but fatally, treats her as a plaything.” -J. A. Bryant, Jr. • How does Shakespeare treat death in Romeo and Juliet? Frame your answer in terms of legal, moral, familial, or personal issues. Bearing these issues in mind, compare the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Mercutio, and Mercutio and Tybalt.
