Proper Hand Washing • Turn on faucet to comfortable water temperature • Remove jewelry (including watches), wet hands, apply liquid soap & lather • Rub (use FRICTION) for 15-30 seconds making sure to get wrists, each finger, fingertips/cuticles, thumbs & back of hands • Rinse with fingertips pointing down • Dry with paper towel • Turn of faucet with clean paper towel Community Living Alliance 1414 MacArthur Rd, Madison, WI 53714

Avoiding needle sticks • Do not recap needles. • Ensure area around you is clean. • No needles laying around. • When using needles, have area ready. • Including appropriate equipment (sharps container, etc.). • Nothing that will cause jerky movements or surprises.
