BACKGROUND • Within the framework of the technical cooperation (TC) projects for Asian region, several IAEA expert missions and training on integrated management system (IMS) and safety culture (SC) have been carried out the last years • More specifically, through project TC RAS 4/0/32 (TC) on improving integrated management systems for nuclear power plants initiated in 2009,the IAEA answers to the region request in the areas of IMS and SC
OBJECTIVE • To enhance awareness of nuclear organizations staff regardingIMS and SC areas, both in theory and in practice, • To facilitate the development of a regional forum for exchanging experiences and information related to establishment, implementation of IMS as well as development of SC enhancement programme
NEEDS AND SCOPE • IMS and SC, General overview and concepts • Transition to IMS including process based approach, • SC enhancement programme, • Management of IMS and SC effective monitoring, • Drivers for the establishment of an IMS/SC regional forum
REGIONAL FORUM OF EXCHANGE ON IMS & SC • During the planning meeting of this TC regional project, RAS4032, it has been suggested that the project is used to initiate an IMS/SC regional forum. • This Friday will be fully dedicated to this purpose • Items for discussion: • Objectives of the forum of exchange • Structure of the forum of exchange • Working methods • IT support • Plan of actions and schedule
