General improvements through feedback from models/observations (e.g., TRACE-P CO, inverse modeling). How to further integrate in the future? How to make use of emerging satellite retrievals? Biomass burning, especially Siberia. Better integration of natural emissions with man-made emissions (biogenic, soils, volcanoes, mineral dust) Seasonal variation of CO, BC, NH3, CH4, etc. General temporal issue of merging annual emissions with seasonal emissions and episodic emissions. Improve emission factors, especially for PM, CO, HC. Improve and extend inventories of Hg, POPs, and other species Need to improve spatial allocation proxies, especially for industry. Could be important when “urban plumes” are modeled. Make sure that speciation conversions are available and correct for different modeling mechanisms. Update to new base year. Automated calculations needed? Inventory Issues
