  2. The Moon • It is the satellite of earth • The moon has the diameter of about 3,476 • It looks similar to mercury

  3. What causes Day and night? • The earth rotates on its axis , making one full turn every 24 hours • Half of the planet is being exposed to the sun while the other half is deprived of light

  4. What causes the seasons? • In the northern hemisphere which is the part of earth that is north of equator • When the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun it is probably winter

  5. Phases of the Moon It takes about a month for the moon to change its phases.

  6. Earths Trip around the sun • It takes 365 days to go around the sun • Earth goes around the sun on an orbit • Earths orbit is shaped like an eclipse

  7. The Plants in Order • mercury • Venus • Earth • Mars • Jupiter • Saturn • Uranus • Neptune • Pluto

  8. The Inner Planets • Made mostly of rock • Small

  9. Jupiter • Jupiter means Zeus • Jupiter has a big red dot • It is the biggest planet in the solar system

  10. Saturn • famous for its rings • If you weighed 70 pounds on earth you would weigh 82 pounds on Saturn • Saturn has 53 moons
