GENERAL OBJECTIVES • To produce knowledge in the fields of research of the area, in collaboration with other CERNAS areas and with other institutions; • To promote partnerships with other institutions to submit research projects; • To create the necessary conditions for the development of advanced training of the group members, namely in post graduations, masters, PhDs and post-PhD work; • To promote partnerships of the Centre with private enterprises; • To promote cooperation activities with International Organizations, Government Agencies, NGO and other civil society organizations.

Work output • - Research on agro-food lines • - Wine • - Horticulture (Tomato) • - Fruit (apple and pear) • - Experimental economics on consumers behavior • - Biofuels economics; • - Economic Impacts of Genetic Modified Crops • Research and technical support on the implementation and assessment of : • Rural Development projects; • Dynamics in mountain areas; • Food security in Developing Countries.

Work output • - Research on Accounting and in Financial Accounting: • - The impact of intangible assets in the accounts of portuguese enterprises. • Research on languages and communication: • Strategies for Teaching and Learning English for Specific Purposes; • Translation as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of the linguistic subsystems of specialised languages; • Communication strategies; • Academic writing. • Research on Portuguese culture. • - Research ontourism in rural areas.
