Whyrenewal of SLU'seducationaloffering is needed • SLU is responsible for ensuring that degreeprogrammecontentmeets the futurechallengesfacing the green sector • The limit has beenreached – priorities must be decided • Little collaborationbetweendegree programmes (at different faculties) • Degree programmes costmorethantheybring in • Growingneed to prepare students for an international role • Difficult to recruit students for somefirst-cycle programmes and for SLU'sownmaster's programmes • Uncleareducationaloffering, both for prospective students and for stakeholders and the labour market

What must weachieve? • Content that prepares students for a longprofessional life • Mission, base and top, contact with the outside world • Greater internalcollaboration • Quality, joint study, distancecomponents, mobility, resourceefficiency • Clearlystructurededucationaloffering • 3+2 years & vocationaldegrees, common beginning & individual freedom • Greater internationalisation on all degree programmes • Mobility in & out, international perspectives • Sound financesprovidinggoodscope for planning • Multi-yearassignments, rationalisation

Whathappensnext? • Education Conference 15/5, discussion of principles, offering and content • Modification by GUR, consultation on joint guidelines in August (!) • University Board 25/9; Decision on guidelines for educationaloffering and implementation plan • Autumn term 2013 work on programmeoffering, joint elements, etc. • 2013/14 work on programmesyllabuses, frameworktimetables, etc. • University Board meeting June 2014; decision on educationaloffering 2015/16
